Our team consists of experienced legal and other professionals. We place a high value on the balance between work and personal life.  To encourage this balance, some of our professional team members work “virtually” from home offices and on a part-time basis. This provides clients with excellent value for resources that might not otherwise be available.

Scott E. Sqillace
Scott E. Squillace is the principal and founder of Squillace & Associates, P.C. He has over 20 years of experience in the legal field. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, New York and Washington D.C. and has been admitted to the Bar in Paris, France as an Avocat. Scott is focused on Life & Estate Planning matters for individuals and families. He specializes in planning needs for international clientele, corporate executives and small business owners. Carol Sneider Glick brings over 25 years of legal practice experience to our team. Carol concentrates her estate planning practice in the areas gift and transfer tax planning, Medicaid planning, probate of estates and trust administration. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University and has expertise in a wide variety of sophisticated estate planning techniques, including drafting complex trusts for high net worth clients, non-U.S. citizens, and families with special needs. Brian C. Olson
Brian C. Olson is a business lawyer with nearly 10 years of experience. As former Vice President of Legal Affairs of a privately-held family company that operated internationally, Brian managed all aspects of that company's legal functions, in the United States and in 30 other countries. At our firm, Brian advises client family businesses in such areas as company formation and maintenance, contracting, and succession planning. Brett J. Barthelmeh joined the firm as an associate in 2009 and concentrates his practice in estate planning.  Previous to joining our team, Brett supported the underwriting department of a financial services company and during law school served both as an estate planning summer associate and a summer judicial clerk. Brett earned his B.S., cum laude, from Boston University and his J.D. from Syracuse University, with certificates in Family Law and Estate Planning.   Brett lives on the South Shore and enjoys international travel and outdoor activities. Shawn M. Hartman has been with the firm since its founding as Director of Finance and Administration and Senior Paralegal.  At the Firm, Shawn primarily supervises the probate and settlement process and trust funding for clients.  In addition, Shawn serves as the senior administrative officer managing the office and staff.  Shawn holds a Master's degree in Education with a focus in psychology and counseling from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, Bachelor's degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a Paralegal Certificate from Boston University. Shawn has served as a college administrator, taught as an adjunct professor , worked for the Massachusetts Legislature, and served as Communications Director for the MA Democratic Party.  Shawn has been appointed Chair of the Massachusetts Paralegal Association Trust and Estate Section.

John F. Hickey
  John F. Hickey joined Squillace & Associates in September 2008 as our Client Services Coordinator. He spent almost five years before joining the firm working for the Middlesex County Probate Court where he focused on family and probate law. At the firm, John handles a majority of the client related inquiries. John works with our client families on making sure they are prepared for their meetings with the Attorneys. He also helps client families fund their trusts.
